How to Download Flickr Original Pictures and Make DVD Slideshow

Flickr is one of the best online photo and video hosting and sharing platform in the world. With Flickr, you can easily organize photos using tags, group, collection, and more ways. But it's not easy for us to download original photos from Flickr for backup or making photo slideshow with music from Flickr photos. Software you need to download Flickr images in batch

1. Downloadr (Download Here).
It's a single virus-free file(Updatr.exe). If blocked by your web browser, make it available temporarily. Download Updatr.exe to a new folder and double-click to install, then the latest version of Downloadr is installed on your system.
2. .NET Framework 3.5 (free download from Microsoft) is required to run Downloadr. It's about 71Mb in size, so be patient.

To download original Flickr images in batch using Downloadr freeware, firstly launch Downloadr software, and input keyword to search Flickr photos. The search result will show up on the right. Next, click or drag to select Flickr photos you want to download. Finally, press "Download Selected" button to download Flickr photo to computer.

Part 2: Making Flickr DVD Slideshow with Music

What you need:

1. Flickr Photos.
2. DVD Slideshow Maker (Wondershare DVD Slideshow Builder is recommended. )
3. Digital Music (for music video styled Flickr DVD Slideshow)
4. DVD Burner and fair quality DVD disc

Step 1: Add Downloaded Flickr Photos

Install Wondershare DVD Slideshow Builder and launch. You will start from Slideshow tab. Here, click Add Photos/Videos button, in the dialog that appears, go to the folder you have stored Flickr photos and select those you want to make Flickr DVD slideshow. Next, click the Add Music button or double click empty place on storyboard to add music.

Step 2: Author Flickr DVD menu

Switch to Menu tab to author dvd menu for Flickr DVD. Many free DVD menu templates are provided on the left. Double click desired menu template to applied. And then right-click on menu to customize Flickr DVD menu. Note that you can change slideshow DVD menu background music to favorite songs. To do so, click the browse button and select a music file from local hard drive.

Step 4: Burn Flickr DVD slideshow with menu

Now it's time to burn Flickr photo slideshow to DVD. To do so, go to Create tab and select DVD Video as the output format. Subsequently, go to Option dialog to define correct TV standard. Finally, click Start to burn Flickr DVD. Once completed, you can play Flickr DVD using stand-alone DVD player and enjoy Flickr photos on TV.

How to Make Photo Slideshow for blog/website/myspace

This tutorial explains how to make photo slideshow and embed into your blog or website. It will be divided into 3 parts:

Part 1. Create photo slideshow
Part 2. Upload photo slideshow to youtube
Part 3. Embed youtube video to Myspace/blog/web page

Part 1. Create photo slideshow

Use your favorite photo slideshow maker to make photo slideshow. Here I use Wondershare DVD Slideshow Builder for example. It's a superb easy to use slideshow making software. Within 3 steps, you can get the amazing photo slideshow. No complicated skills needed.

Slideshow Example for Myspace, Blog and website

Step 1: Add everything, pictures, videos, music

Download and install this movie maker software. Once launched, you will start from Slideshow tab. Here, import favorite pictures/videos and music to the storyboard. If required, double-click media source to edit.

Step 2: Add titles

Switch to Timeline and double-click Subtitle track to bring up the Add Subtitle dialog, in which you can add stunning slideshow subtitles at your pleasure. Note that you could control 3 actions of the slideshow subtitle: Entrance, Emphasis, Exit. Every action could be assigned one text effect, so that your slideshow subtitle could be well controlled.

Step 3: Create slideshow video for youtube

The Menu tab could be omitted if you just make photo slideshow for blog/web page. Now go to Create tab and select MP4, AVI, WMV, 3GP, MPEG-I, MPEG-II as output video formats, all of which are supported by youtube. Waiting for some time before the slideshow video is generated. The time depends on the video length.
Tips: More audio and video options are available if you know what they mean.

Part 2. Upload photo slideshow to youtube

When the photo slideshow is ready, open your web browser and sign in youtube.com. Then locate Upload button and click it to start the upload process. You need at least specify which slideshow should be uploaded via the Browse button.
After uploaded, it's time to get the embed code for blog/web page. Find the embed and right-click to copy. Get illustrated by the following figure.

Part 3. Embed youtube video to blog/web page/myspace profile

It's almost done. Now open a blog post, web page or myspace profile and paste the embed code before saving changes.

Tip: How to autoplay/loop youtube video on Myspace/Blog/website

1. To customize the slideshow video size, simply change the Width and Height attribute to desired value, so that myspace slideshow could best fit to myspace profile page.
2. To make youtube video autoplay on myspace, add &autoplay=1 to the end of URL for both <object> and <embed> tag in the HTML code. Here is the example.

3. 1. To loop youtube video on myspace, add &loop=1 to the end of URL for both <object> and <embed> tag in the HTML code. Like so:

How to autoplay youtube video in myspace

This tutorial explains how to embed youtube video in myspace and make it automatically play when someone visit your myspace profile:

Step 1: Get youtube video embed code

After you have uploaded video (How to create?) to youtube, go to My Videos after hanging your mouse cursor over your account name on top, and click the video thumbnail you want to add to myspace profile. When the video is open, on the right hand side, locate Embed and right click it to copy the embed code.

Step 2: Paste youtube video embed code in myspace

Now browse Myspace.com and login. Go through Profile/Edit Profile/About Me text area. Then paste youtube video embed code to this text area. Finally save the changes. In Myspace profile, I usually embed youtube video like this:

Step 3: Edit embed code

By default, the embeded youtube video won't play automatically, you have to click the Play button to start. However, with little change, you can make youtube video in myspace profile autoplay. Here is how:

Tip: Similarly, to loop youtube video on myspace, add &loop=1 to the end of URL for both <object> and <embed> tag in the HTML code. Like so:

3 Steps away from making YouTube videos

Step 1: Import photos/video and music

Download photo slideshow maker and install it. In the Slideshow tab, you can import your prepared photo and music (MP3/WMA/WAV) into the program through the Add Photo/Video and Add Music button. And if required, you can also edit the imported photo/video using the built-in tools issued by double-clicking media thumbnails on Storyboard.

Step 2: Add Titles

Switch to Timeline view and double-click the Subtitle Track to bring up the Add Subtitle dialog box. Here input your text and specify effects for it so that you can get the animated titles. This would definitely grasp eye-balls among tons of YouTube videos. I think animated titles are especially important to YouTube Music Video. One suggestion is that put an image as background and simply add mp3 music and animated titles to build a real YouTube music video.

Step 3: Create YouTube Video File

Finally, go to Publish tab to save video as MP4, AVI, or WMV format. Either is OK. However, for MP4, The video quality is generally higher, but with larger file size. Alternatively, you could save YouTube video as AVI format for smaller size. To publish video, just select desired format and specify output path before clicking the Start button.
